Free Spine Screening Offered at NOHC
Trained therapists, specializing in physical therapy for back and neck pain, are offering free spine screenings at the Neurologic & Orthopedic Hospital of Chicago. The purpose of the screening is to identify if a physician appointment is recommended, or whether simple stretching or strengthening exercises could provide some relief.
The physical therapist will listen to your description of the problem you are having. You may be asked to walk, bend or in other ways demonstrate how you move. Shorts or a skirt would be appropriate. Activity or exercise ideas may be discussed as well as referral suggestions.
The screening will last approximately 10 minutes and no diagnostic tests will be conducted or reports of findings will be given. The screening is not an in-depth evaluation and does not take the place of a clinical evaluation by a therapist or physician. It will assist you in determining action you may want to take for your back or neck problem. No physician will be involved on the day of the free screening
