Non-Invasive Optimal Vessel Analysis (NOVA) software

NOHC is one of 12 locations in the country to install innovative software which allows surgeons to ascertain actual blood flow rates and map the 13 main blood vessels in the brain in addition to many of the smaller, supporting vessels that surround the main vessels.

  • Used in conjunction with a MRA (without contrast)
  • Suggested uses of NOVA:

» Patients with suspected neurovascular condition (aneurysm, AVM, carotid/intracranial stenosis)

» Patients over 65 years and at higher risk of stroke due to:

  1. High blood pressure
  2. Diabetes
  3. Family history
  4. Smoking
  5. Coronary artery disease
  6. Obesity

» Post-treatment follow-up in place of angiogram
